Responsible for the direction of daily activities of areas assigned. Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas. Assign tasks to ensure continuity of operations. Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly. Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents.

• Aid in training security officers.
• Educate and train hospital staff on responding to emergency situations.
• Provide assistance in Environment of Care rounds and Joint Commission Surveys.
• Perform duties at all assigned posts, including walking and mobile security and safety rounds, stationary posts, one‑to‑one observer, traffic control, special assignments, and overseeing weapon screening operations.
• Conduct investigations, complete incident reports and shift logs, manage access control and infant protection, and secure sensitive areas.
• Provide daily operational support to the Lieutenant, Chief or Director and assume department operations as needed.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with division team members, officer‑in‑charge, supervisors, nursing staff, division management, health system security teams, and law enforcement agencies.
• Provide directions and escort visitors, vendors, patients, and staff to appropriate locations within and outside the facilities and parking lots.
• Verify all staff wear s and ensure public visitors, vendors, contractors, etc., obtain proper , passes, and badges. Fabricate s when necessary.
• Respond to maintenance issues during off‑hours, contacting appropriate personnel for resolution.

• 2 or more years of experience in security or a comparable role.

• HS diploma or equivalent.

• Valid Driver's License required.
• NJ Security Officers Registration Act (SORA) certification preferred.

Hourly Rate: $18.89 – $27.81 (actual rate varies by experience and market alignment)
