Residential Counselor Manager (Behavioral Care Specialist Manager)
Location: 1000 Atlantic Avenue, Camden, NJ
Population: Adolescents
Schedule: Full time, variable shift including day, evening, and weekend hours.
Salary Range: $58,000 – $63,000

- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or a related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- At least four years of direct care experience with youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting.
- One year of supervisory experience in human services.
- One year of experience working with youth who have a history of severe, complex behavioral and mental health needs.
Skills and Abilities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Criminal Record History Clearance and a Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Ability to physically participate in therapeutic holds and to be certified biannually.
- Trained in trauma-informed care and crisis de-escalation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
- Flexible and able to work on agency holidays and during shifts when required.
- Knowledge of CFG’s mission and values.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Competency in the Nurtured Heart Approach with its 3 Stands and Recognitions.
- Provide daily care, supervision, skills training, guidance, encouragement, and support for youth.
- Supervise BCS staff and ensure daily implementation of treatment plans.
- Maintain a therapeutic milieu, fostering a positive community atmosphere.
- Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and ongoing training.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and order of the facility.
- Document behaviors, interventions, and treatment plan activities accurately.
- Assist with medication administration, daily living routines, and behavior plans.
- Resist and intervene in crisis situations when necessary.
- Manage and supervise daily recreational, social, and educational activities.
- Conduct performance evaluations for BCS staff.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, time off approval, payroll liaison, and supply ordering.
- Support youth family visitation and community involvement.
