American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with 3+ years of OR experience, requiring an active SC or compact RN license and multi-specialty surgical skills.
Details- Acute care hospital setting with 119 staffed beds
- Assigned to the General Operating Room department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
- Typically works every 4th weekend with weekday coverage, depending on staffing needs
- Weekday on-call responsibility from 3 PM to 7 AM per rotation with staff, subject to change based on staffing needs
- Required to float within scope to other units or sister facilities as needed
- Utilizes Epic charting system
- Robotic surgery experience with the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
- Uses Hana Table equipment for orthopedic procedures
- Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with gynecological procedures such as hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, and D&C
- Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair
- Experience with orthopedic and spine procedures including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, and total joint replacement
- Experience with neurosurgical procedures such as laminectomy, discectomy, and spinal fusion
- Experience with trauma, urology, podiatry, and ophthalmology surgical procedures
- Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on-site
- During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates may be considered case-by-case within a 60-mile radius, with priority given to non-local candidates
- Previous MUSC staff, including PRN employees, must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks based on staffing needs
- Requests for block scheduling may be submitted but are not guaranteed
- All requested time off must be submitted upfront and is subject to facility approval
