Operating Room Registered Nurse
The position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse. The shift will be 5x8 hour days from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM. Weekend requirements vary depending on staffing and typically involve working every fourth weekend with weekday coverage. On-call duty is required during weekdays from 3 PM to 7 AM. The travel nurse will not be on call every weekday but will be part of a call rotation with the staff.
Floating within the scope of practice to meet facility needs and potentially between similar units is expected. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the operating room. The required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Essential skills for the role include experience with a variety of surgical procedures such as hysterectomies, appendectomies, and orthopedic surgeries.
Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. During hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Candidates should be aware that this may affect their assignments during that time. All time off requests must be submitted during the application process. The facility allows for calling off one shift every two weeks.
Preference will be given to candidates with a South Carolina RN license in hand.
