Job Description Summary

MUSC Health – Midlands Division is seeking a skilled and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Orthopedic Surgery team in Columbia, South Carolina. This team supports a regional footprint across Columbia, Elgin, and Camden, offering a unique opportunity to practice within a diverse and expanding patient population.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing orthopedic program committed to delivering exceptional surgical and musculoskeletal care throughout the Midlands region.

The Orthopedic Surgery APP will work closely with orthopedic surgeons across the continuum of care, supporting clinic operations, inpatient management, surgical coordination, and postoperative follow-up. This role offers a dynamic mix of clinical responsibilities in a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced Practice Provider:
    Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Orthopedic, surgical, hospital medicine, or acute care experience preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills
  • Passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
Position Highlights:
  • Manage orthopedic inpatients in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and hospital teams
  • Conduct daily rounding, patient evaluations, admissions, consultations, and discharges
