Job Summary:

The Plumbing Technician is responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of plumbing and water supply systems and to assemble and install plumbing related products without disturbing existing infrastructure throughout the district.

Preferred certification of Backflow devices.

Must have experience with installation, start-up, maintenance and repairing of commercial and industrial plumbing equipment and systems.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to run copper piping and PVC and iron piping.

* Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to wire routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unit of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

* Ability to install and repair water heaters and boilers.

* Understands and has mastered tasks to include but not limited to measuring, cutting, bending pipe material, and installing and maintaining water systems.

* Assemble valves, fittings, tubes, and water appliances.

* Trouble shoot and fix all types of water related issues to include roof leaks, roof drains and storm water systems.

* Proficient with technology, including online work-order platforms, email systems, and related digital tools.

Qualifications:

5-10 years of experience as a Plumbing Technician with a majority of that experience in commercial and industrial plumbing.

Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15-50 pounds) sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, some travel within the district and occasionally outside the district/county, may experience prolonged and irregular work hours, and work with frequent interruptions

Salary Range:

$37,122 - $73,984
