The annual salary listed for this position includes the additional $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend ($1,560 annually) for all full-time positions domiciled in a maximum‑security institution.

- Administrator over the offender library and related institutional library services, planning and directing all related operations of the library program.
- Reviews, evaluates, selects, orders, and catalogs library materials and equipment.
- Prepares and maintains budget requests for library materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Accurately completes required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Prepares library promotions, such as displays of books and reading lists, to create a positive environment.
- Trains and supervises offender assistants to perform routine library tasks.
- Instructs and assists patrons in locating materials within the library in both print and electronic resources.
- Exercises a high degree of initiative and independent judgment in the operation and management of the library; receives general administrative direction and performs other related work as assigned.
- Performs work in accordance with established rules and regulations; receives general and administrative direction; and performs other related work as assigned.
Four or more years of library, education, or correctional experience.
Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year.
Additional Compensation- $2.00 per hour shift differential if assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00 pm and 5:00 am and employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility.
- $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if working full‑time at a qualifying facility.
- $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if assigned a regular post within a restrictive housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years.
