The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in a correctional setting, assisting with chairside dentistry. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and performing additional administrative tasks as needed.

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent (required)
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant (preferred)
• Missouri DA license or ability to obtain license (preferred)
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant (preferred; if not currently held, must be obtained within the first year of employment)
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x‑rays (preferred)
• Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and criminal background check
