Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.

+ Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.

+ Prepare financial reports and analyze accounting data for accuracy.

+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

+ Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

+ Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

+ Support external audits and provide requested documentation.

+ Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with special projects.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.

+ Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

+ Experience working with accounting or ERP software.

+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Public accounting experience.

+

Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.

+ Advanced Excel skills.

+ CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to apply.
