Job Title:
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / Functional POS QE
Location: Camp Hill, PA (Onsite)
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced SDET / Functional POS QE Engineer with strong expertise in Retail Point-of-Sale (POS) testing, automation, and quality engineering. The ideal candidate should have experience with Oracle XStore POS or similar retail POS platforms, transaction workflows, system integrations, API testing, and test automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and scenarios for POS systems.
- Perform functional and end-to-end testing across POS, eCommerce, and backend systems.
- Validate retail transactions including:
- Sales and payments
- Returns, refunds, and exchanges
- Promotions, discounts, and loyalty transactions
- Test integrations with payment systems, inventory, OMS, CRM, and other retail platforms.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and validate backend data using SQL.
- Manage defects, perform root cause analysis, and provide quality reports.
- Collaborate with product, development, and business teams to improve testing processes.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for POS, web, mobile, and API testing.
- Automate regression scenarios using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Support CI/CD testing practices and improve automation coverage.
- 5+ years of experience in POS testing and QA automation within retail environments.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle XStore POS or similar retail POS systems.
- Strong understanding of retail transaction flows and store operations.
- Experience with automation using:
- Java, Python, or Java Script
- Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools
- API testing experience with Postman or REST clients.
- SQL knowledge for backend validation and data integrity testing.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Test Rail, or ALM.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience with omni-channel retail systems (POS, OMS, ERP, CRM).
- Oracle XStore customization and configuration experience.
- Knowledge of payment security, PCI compliance, and data privacy.
- Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of data-driven testing and contract testing.
