Social Worker 2 Position

This position provides social work and case management services that support inmate well-being and reentry preparation at SCI Camp Hill. As a Social Worker 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Coordination: Coordinate social service programs and provide counseling, crisis support, and guidance to inmates and families
- Caseload Management: Maintain records, prepare reports, and communicate with staff and agencies to support case management
- Reentry Planning: Assist with parole preparation, facilitate reentry groups, and coordinate community transition plans
- Continuity Of Care: Provide follow-up services for inmates placed in the community to support ongoing success
- Policy Application: Apply federal, state, and departmental policies and procedures to daily social work activities
- Complaint Review: Investigate concerns or allegations and verify related information with appropriate resources
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or
- Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or
- A master's degree in social work or social welfare.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirement:
- You must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
