Seasonal Material Handler
The seasonal material handler is primarily responsible for accurately loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently; sorting according to purchase order (PO) and SKU; uses a radio frequency (RF) gun to locate and select merchandise for shipment to stores; scanning boxes, opening cases, and then placing them on the correct conveyor for sorting; packing single and multiple customer orders; placing correct shipping labels onto packages and placing on correct conveyor for shipment;
inducts apparel and footwear onto the tilt trays and packs product sorted by the tilt trays for shipment to stores.
Available schedules: 1st shift - Monday through Thursday - 5:00 am until 3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Accurately use and operate an RF scanning device.
- Efficiently and accurately process orders by packing merchandise for shipment to stores and customers.
- Unload merchandise for processing and load merchandise for shipment.
- Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Processes return to vendor, returned and liquidation items in accordance with procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, write, conduct business related mathematics, and analyze data as required.
- Brings problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director or HR manager.
- Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be 18 or older, have a positive attitude, be open to learning, work well with others and have the willingness to prioritize customer needs.
- Qualified candidates will be able to stand, walk, and lift weighted boxes. More details will be provided but will need the ability to meet vision requirements and meet other physical demands within labor regulations.
- Basic proficiency in speaking and understanding English to comprehend safety instructions, participate in safety drills and effectively communicate in case of emergencies.
Benefits:
- Base rate paid bi-weekly: $19.11 per hour.
- Earn $0.26 wage increase following the completion of 90 days, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months of service, totaling up to $1.04/hr. on top of the base rate.
- Attendance bonus: earn a $40.00 attendance bonus per week. That equates to an additional $1.00 per hour. (Eligibility and policy rules will apply.)
