Location and ShiftLocation:
Joint Base Anacosta-Bolling (JBAB), Washington DC – 100% onsite
Shift: Core hours 6am-6p; 9am-5pm M-F;
After hours support required (Duty phone rotates between team members).
- Current 8140 IAT Level II (Advanced) certificate (Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security)
- Active DOD Secret clearance
- Monitor data or infrastructure system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues.
- Identify issues or problems and resolve as appropriate; escalates when necessary.
- Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate.
- Initiate resolution for enterprise level routers and switches.
- Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
- Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI’s) as directed by management.
- Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements.
- Support special projects and day‑to‑day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead.
- Support on‑call rotation schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree (computer science, systems, information systems, technology, engineering, software engineering, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, business/finance) with a minimum of 5+ years of related experience; additional years may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Current 8140 IAT Level II (Advanced) certificate (Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security).
- Expert knowledge of LAN switching, VLANs, VTP, port security, Spanning Tree, and Layer 2/3 switching configurations.
- Expert knowledge of Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS‑IS, etc.) and implementation best practices.
- Expert knowledge with L1/L2 network troubleshooting (Unclassified and Classified).
- Expert knowledge of DoD network and application security hardening requirements.
- Experience with programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting encryption devices at network points of presence including management via GEM‑X or other DoD tools.
- Experience with DoD COMSEC management processes and procedures.
- Experience with Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA.
- Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR.
- Experience working at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia‑Bolling (JBAB).
