Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist

As an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist, you will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT communications systems. You will manage and maintain a secure communications program, implement policies to protect data, and collaborate with stakeholders to address emerging threats.

  • Problem Solving – Identifies problems, evaluates information, uses judgment to generate and assess alternatives, and recommends solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Direct experience in Communication Security (COMSEC) and/or Tactical Communication (TACCOM) procedures, tools, technologies, and policy implementation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT and cybersecurity theories, principles, and concepts, with the ability to independently apply and adapt them to enhance information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement an enterprise continuity of operations program or strategy and ensuring mission assurance.
  • Direct experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to users of classified communications systems and developing training materials for COMSEC equipment and users.
Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑12, with demonstrated performance of the responsibilities listed above.
  • Experience in the IT and cybersecurity field, with a record of managing secure communications environments.
  • Strong knowledge of COMSEC, TACCOM, and continuity of operations concepts.
  • Proficiency in communicating complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
