Position Title: Service Now Developer

Akumen is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Service Now Developer with 5+ years of hands‑on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑level Service Now applications. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of complex solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements. You will take ownership of high-impact projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative Service Now applications.

• Design, develop, and implement complex Service Now applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Architect scalable solutions that align with organizational goals and Service Now best practices.
• Develop reusable components and libraries to streamline development and improve maintainability.
• Design and implement integrations between Service Now and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0 or API keys.
• Oversee testing strategies, including system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Optimize workflows, scripts, and integrations to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Plan and execute Service Now upgrades, including testing and validating customizations and integrations for compatibility with new platform versions.
• Lead migration efforts for legacy systems and ensure seamless transitions to Service Now.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and process workflows.
• Develop training materials and mentor junior developers to build team expertise.

• Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Service Now development, configuration, and architecture.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and implement complex Service Now applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Advanced proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript and Glide, with experience writing efficient and reusable client‑side and server‑side scripts.
• Experience working with UI Builder and other recent Service Now technologies.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing integrations between Service Now and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication mechanisms.
• Deep knowledge of multiple Service Now modules (e.g., CSM, ITSM, ITOM, PSDS, Sec Ops, GRC, CSM) and platform optimization techniques.

• Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist.
• Service Now Certified System Administrator
• CMDB Fundamentals

• Must have an Active Top Secret clearance or higher.
