Role DescriptionThe Town Manager is a full-time, on-site position located in Camp Verde, AZ, responsible for overseeing day-to-day municipal operations and implementing policies set by the Town Council. This role manages departmental leaders, coordinates budgets, and ensures effective delivery of public services, including infrastructure, public safety support, and community programs. The Town Manager prepares reports and recommendations for the Town Council, develops and executes strategic plans, and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and town ordinances.
Daily responsibilities include supervising staff, managing contracts and vendors, responding to community concerns, and fostering collaboration with regional partners, agencies, and stakeholders. The Town Manager promotes efficient use of resources, continuous improvement in services, and a positive organizational culture focused on ethical conduct and public trust.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills in public administration, municipal government, or a related field.
- Strong financial and budgeting abilities, including experience with long‑range planning, resource allocation, and fiscal stewardship.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to elected officials, staff, and community members.
- Skill in policy development, strategic planning, and implementation of programs that support community and organizational goals.
- Proficiency in problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision‑making in a public‑sector environment.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with staff, Council members, community groups, and external partners.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and best practices related to municipal operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Previous experience in a senior management role within a city, town, county, or similar organization is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to ethical governance, diversity, equity, inclusion, and providing fair, nondiscriminatory public services.
