Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner

is seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner for locum tenens coverage at an outpatient clinic in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including acute and chronic disease management, wellness visits, and preventive care. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, ordering and interpreting tests, and thorough EHR documentation. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, accessible care while supporting the clinic during temporary staffing gaps.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan in an outpatient clinic setting
• Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and order/interp ret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
• Manage chronic diseases and perform preventive health screenings and wellness visits
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff to coordinate patient care
• Document all encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medications, and lifestyle modifications
• Follow clinic protocols, quality metrics, and regulatory standards for patient safety and compliance
• Provide coverage during scheduled locum tenens assignment dates, maintaining reliable, professional presence
• Participate in handoffs to ensure continuity of care before and after assignment
