The
Role Overview
The After hours Registered Nurse provides comprehensive hospice care to patients and families outside regular hours, including nights and weekends. Responsibilities include triaging patient needs via phone, responding urgently to crisis calls, performing initial evaluations to determine hospice eligibility, and conducting after hours visits such as admissions, death, recertification, and routine assessments. The RN identifies and reassesses physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs every fifteen days, documenting issues, goals, interventions, and responses.
Qualifications & Skills
- Current unrestricted RN license in the practice state
- CPR certification
- At least 1 year of clinical experience
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle or access to transportation, and insurance
