Support Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations' fisheries management efforts as a Fisheries Biologist at the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) in Campbell River, BC. Play a vital role in habitat restoration and community mentorship.
This full-time, 12-month term position focuses on enhancing participation in fisheries harvest and management. You will liaise between Nuu-chah-nulth Nations and scientific staff, proposing projects and developing staff capabilities. Integral to this role is applying traditional ecological knowledge to resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead technical discussions with fisheries management teams
• Contribute to funding proposals for projects
• Guide the development of fisheries staff skills
• Support habitat restoration and protect aquatic resources
• Mentor youth through training and workshops
Requirements:
•
B.Sc. in Biology or Resource Management
• Two years of fisheries-related experience required
• Excellent communication abilities essential
• Familiarity with Nuu-chah-nulth fisheries practices
• Must possess a valid driver's license
Utilize your fisheries expertise to foster sustainable practices in the Nuu-chah-nulth community.
