ChargePoint is looking for an experienced Power Electronics Controls and Firmware Engineer with more than seven years of hands-on expertise in developing embedded firmware for power control applications. The preferred candidate will excel as an individual contributor supporting our rapid growth. Advanced skills in writing C code for microcontrollers, DSPs, as well as FPGAs. Candidates with a background in power electronics systems and familiarity with renewable energy, electric vehicle charging, or energy storage technologies are highly valued.
We are seeking someone with strong capabilities in Control Engineering and Power Electronics for next-generation fast-charging solutions.
The candidate will design and implement embedded control systems for power factor correction (PFC), grid-tie, grid-forming inverters, bidirectional chargers, DC/DC converters, and related power electronics. Stay updated on advancements in digital control technologies and controllers. Validate design concepts through both computer simulations and hands-on laboratory testing. Create automated test cases for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) modelling and testing, where applicable. Perform board bring-up activities and develop device drivers for communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, and SPI.
Contribute to specification development, participate in design reviews, and carry out unit testing. Ensure a thorough understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for power converters used in fast charging applications. Guarantee compliance with relevant regulatory and safety standards, including UL, IEC, and SAE.

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $200,000 to $230,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits, or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and specific work location.
