Framer Carpenter

Position Summary

The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and takes pride in producing high-quality craftsmanship. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a crew on custom residential construction projects.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 14 years of residential construction experience depending on position level
• Experience in residential framing and/or finish carpentry preferred
• Must have basic carpentry tools as outlined by S.R. Freeman, Inc.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Basic blueprint reading skills required
• Valid California Drivers License with insurable driving record
• Must be physically capable of:
• Lifting up to 100 pounds
• Handling and moving lumber and building materials
• Working from ladders, scaffolding, and heights above 20 feet
• Working on elevated framing members
• Must have good eyesight and depth perception
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, including following verbal and written instructions

• Complete work assignments directed by the Carpenter Foreman
• Maintain and properly use hand tools and equipment
• Perform job site setup, cleanup, and material handling
• Cut and install framing materials
• Construct floor, wall, and roof systems for custom residential projects
• Build and sheet interior and exterior walls
• Assist with:
• Concrete forms and foundations
• Layout and framing of walls
• Door and window framing
• Floor joist and ceiling joist installation
• Roof framing
• Operate tools including:
• Skilsaw
• Levels and layout tools
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Maintain professional working relationships with coworkers and supervisors
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Knowledge of:
• Roof framing
• Concrete form work
• Door and window installation
• Experience with custom residential construction
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Leadership experience preferred for Working Foreman positions
