Materials Management Manager

Position Summary

Taylor Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Materials Management Manager to lead our supply chain operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our clinicians and departments have the necessary supplies, equipment, and materials available to provide high-quality patient care while maintaining cost-effective inventory levels and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution operations
  • Ensure medical, surgical, and facility supplies are available while minimizing waste and controlling costs
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and evaluate supplier performance
  • Collaborate with department leaders to forecast supply needs and improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies
  • Analyze purchasing and inventory data to improve performance and support strategic initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Manage departmental budget while identifying cost‑saving opportunities
Qualifications
  • bachelor's in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • Major in supply chain management preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, purchasing, inventory control, or healthcare supply chain operations.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintain accurate and concise documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach for extended periods as needed.
