Assistant Treasurer

Step into a leadership role as Assistant Treasurer with the Campbellton Regional Community, Canada. This full-time position involves hands-on financial management of capital planning and asset management.

We are seeking a strategic finance professional for the Assistant Treasurer role, reporting to the Director of Corporate Services – Finance/Treasurer. In this essential position, you'll oversee municipal capital projects, support multi-year capital planning, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Additionally, the role requires supervising Finance Department staff and implementing process improvements to enhance departmental effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial administration of municipal capital projects

• Contribute to multi-year capital planning and financing strategies

• Assist in annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting

• Supervise assigned finance staff and coordinate workflows

• Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory reporting

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• At least five years of relevant finance or accounting experience

• Leadership experience and knowledge of full-cycle accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sage or similar systems

• Bilingual in French and English, oral and written
