Job Summary
The Molding Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring molding equipment to safely produce high-quality products while meeting production, quality, and GMP standards. This role performs equipment adjustments, quality inspections, documentation, troubleshooting support, changeovers, and continuous improvement activities while working closely with Shift Supervisors and the production team to achieve operational goals.
Shift Information- Shift: Rotating Night Shift 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12‑hour shifts)
- Schedule:
Week 1 – 36 hours, Week 2 – 48 hours; rotating schedule includes alternating weekends - Overtime may be required based on business needs
- Shift Differential: 10% shift differential for all night shift hours worked
- Operate molding equipment and perform production activities in accordance with safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
- Monitor product quality, equipment performance, and production output to ensure established standards are met.
- Make authorized equipment adjustments to maintain process quality and productivity.
- Perform in‑process quality inspections, process testing, requalification activities, and rework as required.
- Complete all quality and production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support product and equipment changeovers to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs as directed.
- Maintain accurate SAP and MES transactions and document production, scrap, and quality data.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP‑compliant work environment.
- Identify and report equipment, quality, or production issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- Collaborate effectively with Shift Supervisors, Set‑Up Technicians, and team members to meet production and quality goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, Blitz activities, and other problem‑solving efforts.
- Ensure effective communication during shift transitions to support operational continuity.
- Work overtime as needed to support production schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED; or a minimum of 2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Experience operating molding, manufacturing, or automated production equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with GMP‑regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience using manufacturing systems such as SAP and MES.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
