Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be part of the Distribution Department supporting warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Canaan, CT
Pay Range: $23/ hour
Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) OR Day Shift
* 7:00am-7:00pm)
What's the Job?
- Transport palletized products within the manufacturing plant, including unloading, put-away, bulk handling, and pallet picking
- Operate various material handling equipment such as high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, and dock stocker
- Utilize RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure inventory accuracy and track products throughout the site
- Maintain product integrity and follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE
- Cross-train in other areas and provide backup support as needed
What's Needed?
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience may substitute
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in material handling or warehouse operations
- Intermediate experience with high reach or counterbalance forklifts
- Ability to obtain forklift certification within 2 days of employment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting distribution documents in English, operating MHE, and using RF scanners
