Location: Northwestern Ontario (Red Lake)
Job Summary
The Ward Clerk performs a range of clerical duties to update and organize information on the nursing units. The Ward Clerk is responsible for efficient information flow and availability of information.
Qualifications
Minimum Grade 12 or GED required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Office skills and knowledge required.
Medical terminology and/or previous experience an asset.
Ability to comprehend written and spoken direction and act on such in a logical and timely manner.
Ability to greet and assist patients, families and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Must have excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Must be reliable and conscientious.
Professional and discreet in handling confidential information.

Job Duties
Acts as a resource to clinical leads.
Answer telephone, relay messages and respond to inquiries from staff, patients and outside organizations.
Maintain confidentiality.
Prepare and manage patients’ charts, while maintaining accurate and up to date records.
Photocopying, faxing, and filing as required.
Handling and delivery of mail as required.
Rotations assigned are twelve (12) hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of Infection Control measures, and attend training when necessary.
Meditech data entry.
Salary
$25.41 – $27.48, in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.
