Healthcare Administrative Clerk Position

Location: Comox

Start your journey with Island Health as an Administrative Clerk at the Comox campus, providing vital administrative support. You will enhance the effectiveness of the Primary Health Care Clinic through efficient communication and clerical tasks.

In this role, reporting to the Manager, you’ll work within a dynamic team to coordinate between clients and healthcare providers. Your responsibilities include managing patient inquiries, processing essential documents, and utilizing medical terminology for effective communication. The role demands a foundation in office administration and a commitment to patient safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clinic staff with administrative tasks

• Communicate essential information to patients and providers

• Prepare and manage medical reports and referrals

• Answer inquiries related to clinic programs and policies

• Manage scheduling and database systems effectively

Requirements:

• Secretarial or Office Administration Certificate required

• At least one year of relevant office experience

• Familiarity with medical terminology essential

• Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
