Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Registration Switchboard and Patient Information (RSPI) South West Zone, the Administrative Support III performs a variety of administrative duties related to interviewing patients/public and providing accurate and timely registration services for the hospital. Main duties include processing admission and registration of inpatients and outpatients, verify and validating patient identification and orientation to staff and students. Responsibilities will also include reception services, operating the switchboard, directing calls, way finding, monitoring code phones as required in the site, financial functions for hospital billing, and supplies, daily reconciliations, deposits, patient safekeeping, & where applicable assisting residents with trust accounts.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
AdditionalRequired Qualifications:
Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Medical Terminology required; proficiency test will be administered. Keyboarding skills required; proficiency test will be administered. Knowledge of legislation regarding access, privacy and disclosure of patient information required. Confident to work independently and in a team environment with excellent communication skills. Skilled at paying close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times.

Completion of MOA course or equivalent, previous experience working in a Medical Office setting, switchboard experience, Connect Care, Netcare and Person Directory.
