Summer Fire Smart Assistant in BC

Make a difference this summer in Doig River First Nation as a Fire Smart Assistant. Engage in vital community fire safety activities, working directly with the Community Compliance Officer.

This temporary position supports the Community Development Department with Fire Smart initiatives across various land parcels. As a Fire Smart Assistant, you will help engage the community while ensuring safety around residential and commercial buildings. Applicants should possess problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in Fire Smart activities directed by the supervisor

• Work around residential and commercial locations

• Support community engagement and educational efforts

Requirements:

• Minimum age of 16 years as per WCB regulations

• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle

• Strong work ethic and dependability

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team
