Position Summary
The Contract & Partnership Manager is responsible for managing the organization's contractual relationships, partnerships, and business agreements throughout the Yukon. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, government agencies, Indigenous organizations, businesses, community partners, and other stakeholders.
The Contract & Partnership Manager oversees contracts from initial development and negotiation through execution, monitoring, renewal, and completion. The position ensures that contractual obligations are clearly understood and fulfilled while identifying opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and develop new business relationships.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, relationship-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a Northern and community-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, agreements, service arrangements, and partnership agreements.
- Review contracts to ensure terms, deliverables, timelines, pricing, responsibilities, and performance requirements are clearly understood.
- Coordinate contract negotiations with clients, contractors, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure contractual obligations are tracked and completed within required timelines.
- Maintain an organized contract management system and ensure agreements, amendments, renewals, and supporting documentation are current.
- Monitor contract performance and identify potential risks, delays, or compliance issues.
- Coordinate contract renewals, extensions, amendments, and close-outs.
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained before contracts or amendments are finalized.
- Work with management and legal advisors when specialized contract or legal advice is required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive contractual and business information.
Partnership Development & Management
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to establish new partnerships that support organizational and business objectives.
- Maintain regular communication with existing partners to understand their needs and expectations.
- Develop partnership agreements, memorandums of understanding, service agreements, and other collaborative arrangements as required.
- Support mutually beneficial relationships with Yukon businesses, contractors, organizations, and community partners.
- Represent the organization professionally at meetings, networking events, community events, and industry functions.
- Monitor partnership performance and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Act as a key point of contact between the organization and external partners.
- Government & Indigenous Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with Yukon Government, Government of Canada, municipalities, First Nations, Indigenous organizations, and other public-sector stakeholders.
