YMCA Activity Leader Substitute

Location: Northern British Columbia (Fort Nelson)

Become an Activity Leader at YMCA BC in Tumbler Ridge, BC, providing essential support in before and after school programs. Engage with children aged 5-12 while fostering a safe, inclusive environment.

This casual on-call role involves delivering high-quality programming aligned with YMCA standards and legislative requirements. You will design and implement age-appropriate activities, provide mentorship to staff, and build strong relationships within the community. An emphasis on supporting diverse needs is crucial to ensure every child thrives in the program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design engaging indoor and outdoor activities for children

• Provide direct supervision and mentorship to volunteers

• Maintain safety and positive relationships with families

• Communicate effectively with participants and partners

• Support child-centered programming and conflict resolution

Requirements:

• Minimum 19 years of age

• Experience working with children aged 5-12

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• First Aid & CPR certification (within 30 days)

• Completion of 20 hours of relevant training required
