Your role will focus on managing the news desk and publishing stories in print and digital formats.

In this full-time position, you'll oversee municipal and provincial news, handle community stories, and ensure timely publication to our website and social media. With a strong foundation in journalism, you'll cultivate sources and produce engaging content tailored for different platforms, including investigative pieces. Your experience in a digital newsroom and proficiency in photography will enhance our local coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the news desk and assign relevant stories

• Report and write for print, web, and social media

• Develop ideas for daily coverage and investigative projects

• Cultivate sources across municipal and provincial news

• Utilize photography and video in news storytelling

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in journalism or equivalent experience

• Strong writing and editing skills for diverse formats

• Familiarity with social media and digital news gathering

• Experience with Word Press, Photoshop, and In Design

• Flexibility for evening and weekend hours
