Whaler’s Guesthouse – Tofino Hostel is hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. You will play a key role in maintaining the high cleanliness standards that our guests consistently appreciate. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, working hands‑on with their team, and taking ownership of their department in a supportive, family‑like environment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Select and order supplies and cleaning equipment and maintain an inventory of housekeeping supplies, cleaning products, linens, equipment, and staff uniforms.

Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training and reviewing housekeeping staff, and provide input on hiring decisions and performance of the housekeeping team.

Coordinate scheduling of housekeeping staff and assign daily cleaning duties to ensure efficient operations of our housekeeping team.

Oversee the activities of the housekeeping team, including planning and coordinating cleaning activities, conducting regular inspections of guest rooms and communal spaces, and ensuring cleaning and quality standards and safety regulations are met.

Develop, implement, and update housekeeping and cleaning procedures to support efficient daily operations.

Coordinate routine maintenance and report repair needs, working closely with maintenance personnel and external service providers when required.

Arrange servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance for housekeeping equipment to ensure it remains in safe working condition.

Experience:

7 months to less than 1 year

Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Languages:

English

24

CAD per hour + 4% annual vacation entitlement
