Position Overview:
The Fluid Operations Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations, consisting of the collection of the de-icing fluid, fluid processing and distillation operations, and manufacturing of de-icing fluid (ADF). The Operations Supervisor is further responsible for providing superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and preservation of equipment utilized for the purpose of tasks related to the distillation system and processing while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.
This Supervisor must support the interests of the company by conducting him or herself in a professional manner while maintaining excellent customer service and good public relations.
Please note that this is a permanent full-time, salary position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- Managing all aspects of the daily fluid production operations as well as provide leadership and coaching to increase overall safety, performance, maintenance, reclamation operations, facility requirements and customer service;
- Enforce and abide by Inland SOP's that are in compliance with environmental laws, guidelines and reporting;
- Keep all Inland owned or managed equipment, tools and materials in good working condition, including keeping clean and returning to assigned storage areas when not in use;
- Proactively foster a learning safety culture by modelling a safe work ethic and promoting the value of open reporting and shared safety responsibility. Follow all safety policies, standards, and procedures in order to achieve a safe and healthy work environment for all staff, customers and visitors. Similarly support Inland's environmental commitments by helping to limit our organization's impact on the ecosystem;
- Promoting and adhering to our safety and respectful workplace culture and instilling this culture while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance with all employee-focused regulations and federal rules and regulations;
- Assist in the training of all Equipment Operators in the proper operational procedures;
- Assign duties and monitor performance of Equipment Operators to ensure work is completed according to SOPs;
- Inform the Fluid Production Manager immediately of any deficiencies in operation or daily inspections including partnering with Fluid Production Manager in planning, implementing and supervising a regular program of maintenance of all processing equipment;
- To accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management.
Please note :
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable Transport Canada Security Clearance and additional authorizations (Restricted Area Identity Card and Airside Vehicle Operators Permit).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a technical field related to fluid processing operations, general management, mechanical systems or a related field of study considered an asset;
- 5+ years of operational supervisory or management experience including but not limited to process and equipment operations, maintenance, fluid management, facility requirements and safety/regulatory requirements;
- previous experience managing in a chemical or manufacturing process environment is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of regulatory and airline policies, warehouse procedures, operating station equipment, and aircraft handling procedures;
- Must have the ability to mentor and train personnel and management to accommodate future growth and expansion;
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas, prepare reports and presentations, lead groups and provide foundation of open communication;
- Willing to learn new skills and adapt to change in order to support the growth of the company and meet needs of customers.
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Work Environment:
The Operations Supervisor will have a mixture or operational and office duties. While much of the job will be performed in an indoor production facility, ensuring that operational goals are being achieved, time will also be spent on office tasks.
