Community Engagement Manager at Hecla Mining

Location: Central Yukon (Dawson City)

Make a significant impact as the Community & External Relations Manager in Whitehorse for Hecla Mining. Drive community engagement and external affairs, fostering relationships with Indigenous governments and local communities.

This role requires a dynamic leader to manage relationships with the Na-Cho Nyak Dun government and local stakeholders. As a full-time Community Engagement Manager, you will facilitate open dialogue, oversee the implementation of Cooperation Agreements, and maintain records of community interactions. Your engagement efforts will ensure compliance with cultural protocols and regulatory requirements, aligning with Hecla's responsible mining objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage engagement with Na-Cho Nyak Dun and local communities

• Facilitate community meetings and cultural events

• Review and support implementation of agreements

• Maintain records in engagement tracking software

• Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

• 3+ years in community relations or stakeholder engagement

• Knowledge of Yukon First Nations governance

• Strong communication and facilitation skills

• Ability to travel to remote sites
