Take on a pivotal role as an Assistant Area Fire Manager within the Manitoba Wildfire Service, operating from Bissett and Gypsumville. Lead staff in wildfire preparedness while coordinating essential training programs.
This vital position under the Area Fire Manager includes supervising operations, managing diverse teams, and participating in incident management during complex wildfire situations. Effective leadership and adaptability are key to encourage teamwork and execution of Fire Smart initiatives within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise departmental teams for effective wildfire operations
• Implement daily wildfire preparedness and suppression strategies
• Coordinate training programs and Fire Smart initiatives
• Engage in large-scale incident management activities
• Effectively manage logistics and resources for wildfire bases
Requirements:
• Diploma in Resource Technology or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in wildfire preparedness and suppression
• Leadership skills in supervising staff
• Effective communication and analytical abilities
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Play a critical role in enhancing wildfire management in Manitoba through leadership and operational excellence.
