Position: Chief Executive Officer for Environmental Assessments

Join the Environmental Assessment Office in Victoria, BC, as Associate Deputy Minister and Chief Executive Assessment Officer.

This role offers the chance to lead rigorous environmental assessments across major projects in the province.

As a strategic leader within the Ministry of Environment and Parks, your focus will be on the execution of the Environmental Assessment Act and creating effective partnerships with various stakeholders. You will harness your extensive experience to manage resources efficiently and ensure that environmental, social, and economic impacts are thoroughly evaluated, all while fostering respectful relations with First Nations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee environmental assessments for large-scale projects

• Provide leadership to the Environmental Assessment Office

• Engage with ministers on assessment certificate decisions

• Develop and implement service standards for assessments

• Foster collaborative partnerships with diverse groups

Requirements:

• Proven executive experience in environmental management

• Strong ability to lead and manage stakeholder partnerships

• Excellent communication and strategic planning skills

• Capable of thriving in challenging environments

• High integrity and accountability in decision-making
