This position is located in Allan, Saskatchewan and is part of a team of Shaft Supervisors reporting to the Shaft General Foreman.

What You'll Do

Ensure a safe work environment for all employees by maintaining compliance with all applicable safety requirements, leading by example and promoting a proper safety attitude to all employees

Be responsible for supervision of the hoist, shaft and trade crews in the field to ensure maximum utilization and safety

Organize and schedule work within the PM system, and manage emergency breakdowns as they occur

Collaborate with the shaft planning group and contribute to safe and efficient execution of shaft and hoisting operations and maintenance

Ensure compliance with Mine Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety, and Loss Control

Establish an atmosphere for good human relations through support of new and on-going initiatives, excellent communication, and consistent and fair decisions on grievances and disciplinary actions

Support coordination and supervision of service provider activities and perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

Knowledge and experience in mine shafts, hoists, and maintenance

Grade 12 education or equivalent, a Journeyperson Certificate or technical diploma would be considered an asset

A valid underground supervisor’s certificate or qualified to obtain a certificate

Demonstrated positive safety behavior and safety leadership; demonstrated a high level of commitment to creating a safe working environment

Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, guide and correct performance where needed

Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essential

Excellent computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to multitask and proactively manage tasks and commitments
