This is a full-time seasonal position (late fall/winter season) requiring open availability. Weekdays, weekends, holidays and additional hours as required during the operating season. Compensation:

Job Summary

The Lift Supervisor is a front-line leadership position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Dagmar’s lift system and lift operations team. This role oversees daily lift operations, supervises lift attendants and operators, ensures safety standards are maintained, and helps create a positive guest experience throughout the resort. The Lift Supervisor leads by example, works alongside staff when required, and plays a key role in training, communication, and operational excellence.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking to build a long-term career in the ski industry and advance within Dagmar’s Lift Operations Department.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support lift attendants/operators during daily operations.
  • Ensure all lifts operate safely and efficiently while maintaining exceptional guest service standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with TSSA regulations, CSA Z98 standards, company policies, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Conduct opening and closing procedures, inspections, documentation, and operational checks.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, daily inspection logs, and report any abnormalities to mechanics immediately.
  • Act as a primary responder to lift stoppages, guest incidents, and operational concerns.
  • Lead or assist in lift evacuation procedures and emergency response protocols as required.
  • Monitor lift operations and provide proactive feedback to lift operators/attendants.
  • Lead by example and assist with lift operations when staffing shortages or other operational requirements arise.
  • Train, mentor, and support lift attendants while promoting a positive team culture.
  • Communicate effectively with management, maintenance personnel, and other resort departments regarding operational needs and guest concerns.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, daily assignments, and operational planning as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain constant awareness of lift operations and react quickly, calmly, and effectively to guest safety concerns and emergency situations.
  • Dependable, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules during the operating season.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience in lift operations, ski resort operations, outdoor recreation, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with Ontario TSSA regulations and CSA Z98 operational standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset.
  • Skiing and/or snowboarding experience is considered an asset.
Physical & Environmental Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods in winter conditions.
  • Ability to navigate uneven, snowy, and icy terrain safely.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to perform manual snow shoveling, ramp maintenance, and other physical tasks as required.
  • Comfortable working in variable and sometimes extreme winter weather conditions.
