The opportunity

Director, Commercial Excellence & Strategy

Location:

Montreal or Toronto
Hybrid, 3 days a week on site

Teva Canada is seeking a strategically minded, highly experienced pharmaceutical leader to develop, shape and manage Teva Canada strategy and key priorities, integrating future-fit and alignment with both market dynamics and broader Teva direction.

As a member of the Canadian Leadership Team, the Director serves as a key strategic partner to the General Manager—providing structured insight, shaping priorities, and ensuring alignment across commercial, operations, finance, supply chain, regulatory, and medical functions.

Blending PMO leadership, commercial strategy, and chief of staff responsibilities, the Director establishes a disciplined governance framework that enables transparency, accountability, and timely execution of cross functional strategic initiatives.

Working within a complex multinational matrix, the Director acts as an integrator—synthesizing insights, developing high quality strategic materials, and embedding future focused perspectives.

How you’ll spend your day

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of Teva Canada’s most critical commercial and operational initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the General Manager by providing insights, structured thinking, and clear recommendations.
  • Ensure alignment between Canadian priorities and global/regional strategic directions.
  • Implement a results and scorecard framework to measure ROI and business impact of strategic programs.
  • Lead annual strategic / financial processes (LRP, AOP).
  • Project & Program Management

  • Establish and lead a structured PMO framework governing all major cross functional initiatives.
  • Monitor progress, risks, dependencies, and milestones across multiple complex projects.
  • Escalate roadblocks with clarity while driving timely execution and accountability.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Foster transparent, efficient collaboration across commercial, operations, finance, supply chain, regulatory, and medical teams.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels to maintain momentum and deliver commitments.
  • Clarify roles, responsibilities, and expectations across project teams to ensure alignment.
  • Business & Financial Insight

  • Apply strong financial acumen to evaluate business cases, assess ROI, and support strategic resource allocation. /li
  • Provide analytical insights to inform strategic planning and performance tracking.
  • Leadership Team

  • Act as an integrator across the Canadian Leadership Team to ensure alignment, communication, and follow through on priorities.
  • Prepare high quality presentations, strategic updates, and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Introduce external best practices and future focused perspectives to anticipate trends, mitigate risks, and identify opportunities.
  • Your experience and qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a pharmaceutical commercial leader, ideally across both branded and generic segments.
  • Experience in PMO leadership, corporate strategy, or chief of staff roles.
  • Proven experience leading largescale, cross functional strategic or transformation initiatives and projects.
  • Experience working within a multinational organization and navigating matrix structures.
  • Strong expertise of commercial and operational functions within pharma.
  • Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written, and executive level presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Experience in supply chain, regulatory affairs, and /or market access an asset.
  • Fully bilingual in English and French ideal.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
