Position: Natural Resources Leader for VGFN
Location: Central Yukon (Dawson City)

Steer the future of natural resources as the Natural Resources Director at the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. This role combines strategic planning with community involvement in a collaborative environment.

The Natural Resources Director is responsible for managing the Department's operations in alignment with VGFN policies.

Your role will include engaging with governmental bodies and leading teams to ensure sustainable management of the lands and resources. Collaborating with Citizens and stakeholders, you will drive strategic plans to fulfill community needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct departmental oversight and risk anticipation

• Strategize with VGFN leaders for long-term planning

• Cultivate team capabilities and establish performance goals

• Handle proposal submissions and manage stakeholder relationships

• Facilitate public engagement and address Citizen concerns

Requirements:

• Degree in natural resources, environmental science, or equivalent

• 10+ years in management of conservation programs

• 5+ years in staff mentoring and financial management

• Established partnerships with community resources

• Familiarity with northern community agreements is advantageous
