Cultural Facilitator

Position: Full-Time Cultural Facilitator Role
Location: Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands

Become a vital part of Zhiibaahaasing First Nation as a Cultural Facilitator, focusing on cultural programming that nurtures spiritual healing and community engagement. You will lead and empower families and youth through cultural practices and teachings.

This full-time position stresses the importance of traditional Ojibwe culture, ensuring that programming is connected to the land. You will coordinate workshops, facilitate ceremonies, and provide opportunities for hands-on learning. Your expertise in community interaction will strengthen cultural ties within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop cultural programming rooted in community practices

• Coordinate and facilitate cultural workshops and celebrations

• Organize Sharing/Learning Circles as necessary

• Support traditional ceremonies and community relations

• Provide program support to departmental initiatives

Requirements:

• Strong communication and facilitating capabilities

• Experienced in engaging First Nations communities

• Open-minded, friendly, and professional

• Availability for evening and weekend work

• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
