What You Will Do
We are looking for a passionate and community-minded leader to serve as a Satellite Director, providing leadership and oversight for the development and growth of all ministry initiatives within the satellite. This role includes supervisory support and encouragement to satellite staff, committee members, and volunteers while fostering a healthy, collaborative ministry environment.
The successful candidate will have a heart for youth, strong leadership abilities, and the vision to build meaningful ministry opportunities that meet the needs of youth within the local community. This role combines youth ministry, staff leadership, fundraising, volunteer development, administration, and community engagement.
As the primary representative and spokesperson of the satellite ministry, you will build relationships within the broader community and communicate the vision, mission, and impact of Youth Unlimited YFC to churches, supporters, service clubs, industry contacts, and community stakeholders.
You Will:
Provide leadership and oversight for all satellite ministry initiatives
Work directly with youth and participate in at least one specific ministry program
Provide supervisory support, encouragement, and accountability to satellite staff and volunteers
Recruit, screen, orient, and support ministry volunteers
Recruit, maintain, and nurture members of the Satellite Committee
Attend monthly satellite staff meetings, bi-monthly chapter-wide supervisors and staff meetings, and annual retreats/conferences
Liaise between SWOYFC leadership and satellite staff
Monitor staff schedules and encourage healthy ministry and personal balance
Seek to understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing youth within the community
Advocate for youth through fundraising and ministry partner development
Develop and nurture community support through churches, industry contacts, service clubs, and community presentations
Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of major satellite fundraising events
Build positive relationships with parents, schools, churches, and community stakeholders
Project a visible and positive image of Youth Unlimited YFC within the community
Complete administrative responsibilities including reports, budgeting, policies, volunteer documentation, and ministry records
Develop annual satellite budgets for Committee review and Board approval
Ensure volunteer and ministry records are properly maintained
Uphold SWOYFC policies, procedures, and risk management standards
Pursue ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Spiritual maturity
Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills
Previous supervisory experience considered an asset
Experience or willingness to engage in fundraising and ministry partner development
Excellent relational skills with a professional approach to relationships
Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work independently
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Willingness to participate within a team that undertakes a variety of weekly tasks
Lifelong learner with a desire for ongoing growth and development
Post-secondary education in a related field
Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Persons Sector)
