Location: North Island, Sunshine Coast, and Southern Gulf Islands (Whistler)
Shape the future of youth through programming as the Youth Center Coordinator, focusing on social, emotional, and cultural development. This full-time position serves young people aged 13-29.
Under the direction of the Elders, you will design and implement activities that encourage education, health, and community bonding.
Your role includes maintaining emergency protocols, organizing cultural exchanges with Elders, and managing the Youth Centre’s overall operations. You will be vital in creating a space where young individuals feel empowered and respected.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and distribute monthly activity schedules
• Organize youth training sessions and conferences
• Ensure the safety and upkeep of the Youth Centre
• Collaborate with local youth service providers
• Conduct inventory management for center supplies
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant youth work experience
• Understanding of Lil’wat culture and traditions
• Strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills
• Certification in Level One First Aid and CPR
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
