School Food Service Assistant Position

Enhance student dining experiences as a Food Service Assistant with CUPE. Engage in food preparation, serving, and safety management while supporting diverse dietary requirements in school meal programs.

As a key player in the school's food services, you will prepare meals according to best practices, work closely with educators, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Handling food inventory and storage will be critical to ensuring operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals following recipes and safety standards

• Collaborate with staff on special dietary needs

• Keep kitchen, equipment, and work spaces clean

• Manage incoming food supplies and inventory

• Operate various kitchen equipment efficiently

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• FOODSAFE Level 1 certification essential

• At least 6 months of commercial food experience

• Effective communication and relationship-building skills

• Physical ability to lift and stock up to 20lbs
