Job DescriptionAt our Michelin One Key-awarded hotel, living by the credo “Make It Count”, the Stewarding Supervisor leads, mentors, and inspires a 24-hour team across multiple kitchens and event spaces. You’ll uphold hygiene and safety standards, boost morale, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Job Duties Include- Work flexible shifts in a 24/7 operation while overseeing kitchen and event setups to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and equipment functionality, including inventory checks and safety audits.
- Lead, coach, and manage team members, including delegating tasks, scheduling, and supporting performance and development
- Handle administrative and operational tasks such as inventory tracking, ordering supplies, reporting, and system updates
- Take ownership of responsibilities, solve problems proactively, collaborate with other departments, and perform additional duties as needed.
Starting Rate: $28.32 per hour
We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $31.10.
Offical title of the position is Steward Supervisor.
YourSkills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of stewarding leadership experience in a high-volume service environment.
- Class 5 Driver’s License required, with the ability and confidence to operate a company vehicle up to 3 tons. Must provide an updated driver’s abstract on the first day of employment.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification.
- Ability to operate industrial machinery, including cardboard balers and various sizes of industrial dishwashers.
- Passionate and organized, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong financial knowledge, including labor and food cost management.
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Physically fit and able to work well under pressure
- Able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50+ lbs
- Able to bend and kneel comfortably
- Reaching above and below shoulder level
- Working in loud environments, with exposure to hot, humid, and cold conditions
- Able to withstand exposure to kitchen equipment, including large and small ovens, stoves, steam kettles, mixers, sheeters, fryers, rational ovens, steamers, tilt skillets, fridges, freezers, and blast freezers
