As a Cook at Leading Thunderbird Lodge, you will create effective meal plans that reflect the nutritional needs of youth and promote cultural foods. Responsibilities include ensuring kitchen cleanliness, ordering supplies, and delivering both nutritional and cooking workshops. You will have the opportunity to enrich the lives of young individuals through food, providing them with essential skills and healthy habits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop monthly meal plans aligned with dietary guidelines

• Prepare daily meals for youth and facility staff

• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area

• Order necessary food items based on events and meal needs

• Conduct basic cooking workshops and nutritional education

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 and Cooking certificate

• Valid Safe Food Handling certification

• Knowledge of First Nations National Food Guide

• Skills in traditional food practices and outdoor cooking

• Excellent communication skills, especially with youth
