Position: Fisheres & Aquatics Technician - 6 Month Fixed-Term
Location: Central Yukon (Dawson City)

Fisheries & Aquatics Technician II
Whitehorse, YT - 6 Month Fixed-Term Role - Full-Time

Ensero Solutions is an environmental consulting and remediation business focused on environmental assessments, water treatment, microbiological testing, and turnkey remediation services for the mining industry and broader industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities

Conduct fieldwork, environmental sampling, and site assessments at various project locations

Supports the delivery of aquatics-related services for clients, including working with other team members to collect, manage and interpret data for use in supporting environmental assessment and regulatory applications and application review processes

Analyzes and interprets environmental data, including direct experience with water quality, benthic invertebrates, fish, sediment, and periphyton

Conducts summary reporting and technical reporting for internal and external (e.g. regulatory applications) requirements and generally supports the development of environmental assessment and regulatory applications

Collects environmental data, including the sampling of various media (surface water, benthic invertebrates, fish, periphyton, groundwater, soil/sediment, atmosphere, etc.), including maintaining custody of environmental samples and installing and/or maintaining monitoring instrumentation

Remote field sampling and environmental data collection

Environmental sampling and preparation of shipments to labs

Provide technical input to projects within your area(s) of expertise

Other duties as required

About You

Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent

1-3 years of previous experience in fisheries or aquatics field work

Ability to work effectively with team members as well as independently

Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team

Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders

Working Conditions

Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds

Site travel will be required with some weekend work
