Position: Full-Time Junior Environmental Scientist at Vertex

Vertex is hiring a full-time Junior Environmental Scientist to support essential environmental projects in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Focus on diverse fieldwork related to oil and gas assessments while ensuring high-quality work and client satisfaction.

In this permanent role, you will assist various environmental consulting projects, primarily in the field, to develop essential competencies. Your contributions will range from execution and reporting activities to maintaining adherence to industry regulations and standards. This position is tailored for enthusiastic environmental professionals eager to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform field work on environmental assessment tasks

• Assist with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments

• Help monitor and analyze groundwater quality

• Support reclamation and remediation efforts

• Compile and produce accurate reporting for projects

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in environmental science or a related discipline

• 1-2 years of experience in environmental consulting

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

• Willingness to engage in extended fieldwork in Alberta

• Hydrogeology experience preferred
