Biodiversity Project Biologist at Yukon

Location: Central Yukon (Dawson City)

The Yukon Department of Environment is seeking a permanent 0.8 FTE Project Biologist. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and coordinating wildlife-related projects aligned with departmental priorities. Proven expertise in wildlife biology, ecology, and effective project management will be crucial to your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate biodiversity projects for the department

• Conduct advanced data analyses using GIS and R software

• Manage wildlife-related field projects with non-invasive methods

• Write and review scientific reports for publication

• Maintain scientific equipment and supplies effectively

Requirements:

• University degree in wildlife biology, ecology, or related field

• Substantial experience in data analysis and project management

• Experience in field project coordination and sample collection

• Strong knowledge of Yukon wildlife

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
